Build Target Account Lists
Use Vera to build data-rich target account lists and prioritize outreach based on company fit, not guesswork.
The Process
Step 1: Gather Your Prospect Domains
Start with a list of company domains. Common sources:
- CRM export — Export accounts missing key data fields
- Event attendees — Conference or webinar registrations with company emails
- Website visitors — Extract domains from visitor analytics
- Industry directories — Compile lists from industry associations or directories
- Manual research — Companies you've identified through market research
Extract the domain from company emails (e.g., jane@acme.com → acme.com). Filter out personal email providers (gmail.com, yahoo.com, etc.).
Step 2: Bulk Enrich
- Prepare a CSV with your domains
- Go to Upload in the dashboard
- Upload your CSV and map the domain column
- Start enrichment — Vera processes each company in 10-15 seconds
Domain
acme.com
bigco.io
startup-xyz.com
For lists over 1,000 companies, split into multiple uploads or use the Bulk API.
Step 3: Filter and Qualify
Once enrichment completes, go to Companies and filter by your ideal customer profile (ICP):
Common ICP filters:
- Employee count — e.g., 51-500 for mid-market focus
- Industry — e.g., Financial Technology, E-commerce, SaaS
- Business stage — e.g., growth or scaleup companies
- Funding status — e.g., Series A+ (funded companies with budget)
- Confidence score — 70+ for reliable data
Step 4: Score with B2B Match
If you've set up your company profile, every enriched company gets a B2B match score. Use it to prioritize:
| Match Score | Priority | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 80-100 | High | Immediate outreach — strong alignment |
| 60-79 | Medium | Worth pursuing — review sales angles |
| 40-59 | Low | Niche fit — cherry-pick specific opportunities |
| Below 40 | Skip | Focus efforts elsewhere |
Step 5: Export Your List
- Apply your filters
- Sort by match score (highest first)
- Select the companies you want
- Export Selected → CSV
Your exported list includes all enriched fields plus B2B match data — ready for CRM import or outreach campaigns.
Example: Mid-Market SaaS TAL
Here's a real workflow for building a target list of mid-market SaaS companies:
- Source: Export 500 company domains from a SaaS directory
- Enrich: Bulk upload CSV — 475 enriched successfully (95% rate)
- Filter: Employee count 51-500, industry contains "SaaS" or "Technology" → 180 companies
- Score: Sort by B2B match → Top 50 have match scores 65+
- Export: Download top 50 with sales angles and pain points
- Outreach: Use B2B match sales angles as personalized opening lines
Tips for Better Lists
- Start broad, filter narrow — Enrich more companies than you need, then filter down to your ICP
- Use the match score — Don't just filter by firmographics. A 200-person startup might be a better fit than a 2,000-person enterprise
- Check sales angles — Two companies with the same match score might need completely different approaches
- Re-enrich quarterly — Companies change. Re-enrich your top targets to catch new opportunities
- Combine with CRM data — Export Vera data and merge with your CRM for a complete account view
From List to Outreach
Each company in your exported list comes with data you can use directly in outreach:
- Opening line: Reference their specific industry, funding stage, or business challenge
- Value prop: Use the B2B match sales angles — they're tailored to each company
- Pain points: Lead with the challenges Vera identified that your product addresses
- Social proof: Reference competitors or similar companies from your enriched data
